     Homegrown Theater has announced auditions or this weekend for their production of  "Veronica Livingstone, I Presume", a play by local writer Josh Gross. For the audition, please prepare two contrasting monologues, and bring a headshot and resume. Excerpts of script will be available for further auditioning. Performance dates are March 13th, 14th, and 15th. Please contact Artistic Director Janessa White to schedule audition at 867-6146.

     And for the theater youth Boise Parks & Recreation and Boise Little Theater have announced auditions will be held May 12 & 13 for the 13th annual Youth Summer Production, "Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka Junior". This production is directed by Autumn Kersey, with Musical Direction by Becky Turner Duggan and Choreography by Clay Lee.      As for seeing shows, there are three that close this weekend. Boise Little Theater closes the farce "Out of Order" and Stage Coach Theatre closes "Unnecessary Farce". Also, this is the last weekend to catch The Red Light Variety Show's production "VaVaVaVaudville".  Red Light teams up with the Fool Squad, Off Center Dance, and the Frim Fram 4 to pay tribute to the vaudeville tradition!

     The Idaho Media Professionals will be holding their monthly mixer this Monday, January 30, at 6pm, at Bardenay in Eagle.
     Idaho Media Professionals is a statewide organization committed to promoting awareness of the film, television, new media and creative arts industry. Events such as the Monthly Mixer foster a networked community of
professionals involved in the film, television and interactive industries in Idaho.
     Non-members are welcome to come meet the people and join the conversation.

     On Tuesday, January 31, BLiP presents a stage reading of "A Paris Story" by C. Hunt. This adaptation of a radio play chronicles the reunion of Archer and his old flame Catherine. No African lion hunt or Atlantic shark fight could prepare Archer for the emotional adventure Catherine has in store for him.
     Join C. Hunt, actors from HomeGrown Theater, and musician Thomas Paul (providing live foley) for an golden-age evening of live radio play at Hyde Park Books, 1507 N. 13th St., Boise.

     The 3rd Annual Will Act 4 Food is February 4 and is being held at (and sponsored by) Boise Little Theater, 100 Fort, Boise. The 24-hour Theater Play Festival benefits The Idaho Foodbank.

February 3 - 5 -- Full Tilt Boogie, Starbelly Dance, and Cairo Fusion present  The 2nd Annual Big Bad-Ass Belly Weekend. Three days of workshops and performances, including th Big Bad-Ass Dance Show on Saturday evening.
     From traditional dance to extreme, with everything in between.

      The Chill Skillz acting program for kids age 7-13 is taking enrollment.
     Chill Skillz is an educational comedy tv show that airs on TVCTV and streams online Saturday mornings at 9am year-round. Kids sign up to be actors on the... show, and each episode uses humor, creativity and the arts to teach life skills such as conflict resolution, stress management, emotional insight, dealing with bullies, positive thinking etc.

     On an art note,  an Opening Reception will be held Friday, February 3 at VAC for Travis Campion's exhibit "Spontaneous Generation of Exotic Particles".
     According to Campion, "These are the lost dreams of amnesiatic alien abductees." The exhibit runs through March 31.

     Brandon Freeman's feature film "Mark of the Veil" is in pre-production and Brandon is raising money through an Indie Go Go campaign. "Mark of the Veil" introduces us to James Sheridan, a young man whose destiny stretches beyond the final hours of human civilization as we know it.
