Auditions

February 28 - March 3 -- River City Entertainment is holding open auditions on Tuesday, February 28th at the Nampa Civic Center from 7-9pm and on Saturday, March 3 at 12:30-3:30pm. Auditions are at Dance is Everything, 1524 Vista, in Boise.  They are looking for improvisational actors who are 18 and older.  Most positions are paid. -- Prairie Dog Productions auditions "James Blonde". 1:30pm at the theater, 3820 Cassia. Come prepared to improvise, sing, and have fun! All positions are paid!


March 3 - 4 -- Boise Creative and Improvised Music Festival auditions for a full length theatrical experience featuring live improvisational music. The event features a play written by Heidi Kraay interspersed with live music before, after, and during intermission. Actors who wish to audition should prepare: a Bio, a Headshot, 2 Monologues: a One Minute Classical (does not have to be Shakespeare) and a One Minute Contemporary. March 17 & 18 -- Boise Little Theater auditions "The Pink Panther Strikes Again", directed by Brad Ooley. 2pm in the theater greenroom. Needed are 8 men, 8 women to play about 36 different characters. No preparation or appointment necessary. For more information, please contact boiselittletheater@gmail.com.

 Apr 5th, 7 p.m. & Apr 7th 2 p.m. --
Stage Coach Theatre auditions "Cockeyed", directed by Jeff Thomson. Needed are 3 men and 1 woman.

April 14 & 15Stage Coach Theatre auditions "Laughter on the 23rd Floor". Directed by Becky Kimsey. Needed are 7 men and 2 women.
2pm each day at the theater. The play takes place in New York City in the 1950's. But Yiddish and Russian dialects are also needed so brush-up on your Bronx, your Oy Vey's and your Wooodka! This will be a cold reading but you must also tell a joke or a funny story as part of your audition

May 12 - 13 -- Boise Parks & Recreation and
Boise Little Theater hold auditions for the 13th annual Youth Summer Production, "Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka Junior". This production is directed by Autumn Kersey, with Musical Direction by Becky Turner Duggan and Choreography by Clay Lee.
     Auditions open to young actors, singers and dancers ages 10 - 18, by appointment only. Please register via their website for an audition. There is no cost to audition, however, if you are cast you will be asked to pay a $20 fee which is applied toward a show t-shirt, cast party and administrative expenses.
     Anyone interested in auditioning must prepare a 2-minute song (preferably from a musical) that may be sung acapella, with an accompaniment/karaoke CD, or you may bring an accompanist. Please note, we will provide a CD and MP3 (ipod) player and an electric key board. We do not have access to a full piano.
     All auditioners will be taught a short movement piece. Dress comfortably in clothes that you can move, bend, stretch, and roll on the floor in. Shoes should tie, velcro, or otherwise stay on your feet. No slip-ons, sandals, or flip flops, please. Auditions are held in groups of 10 and take approximately 1.5 hours. Parents are welcome to wait in the lobby of Fort Boise Community Center but auditions (like rehearsals) are closed.
